Ask the Rabbi
Question
Dear Rabbi,
Is one allowed to use a razor and/or laser to remove the facial hair (above the beard line on the cheek), or is it part of the beard? How about the throat?
Answer
Rabbi Dov Lior shlit"a says that removing hair with a razor from parts of the face and throat not specified by the Torah is still forbidden Rabinically. However, it may be removed by laser.
