The need for a Mezuza
Question
I have a large (greater than 2 m X 2 m) storage shed behind my house. It is used to store tools, bicycles, etc. Does it require a Mezuza? If so where should it be placed? It has sliding doors in front but no door frame.
Answer
A Mezuzah is required in storage areas if there is a door frame or a structure with two uprights and a lintel. Even if the door frame is thin, it creates an obligation. 2 meters by 2 meters is an amount to require a mezuzah. (Yoreh Deah 286 and 287)
