Question
Is it permissible for a woman to have a haircut in the afternoon before Yom Haatzmaut in honour of the day?
Answer
Shalom,
Thank you for your question. I apologize that for technical reasons I was unable to answer you before Yom HaAtzmaut. None the less – here is an answer for you.
As I am sure you are aware, there are various rabbinic positions about haircuts on, or for, Yom HaAtzmaut. My opinion is that both men and women may get a haircut in honor of the day, both on the afternoon before the festival, and on the festival itself.
May we merit the continued redemption in all its fullness.
