Question
is a minyan necessary?
Answer
ב"ה
Shalom
First of all, Mazal tov.
The common custom is that the father, goes to the Bet Knesset- synagogue on a day when there is Torah reading (some wait until Shabbat) and a special prayer of "Mi Sheberach"is said for the mother and the newborn and at this time the child is named.
It is also, customary that after the giving of the name, to offer some refreshments so that people can say Berachot and praise G-d in her merit.
However, as I already answered 4 years ago during the Covid lockdowns , if one cannot go the synagogue, a Minyan is not needed and one does not have to wait but simply name the newborn daughter .
All the best
