Question
Hi Rabbi. Im an observant jew and recently received a new pair of loafers. Ive heard that people style loafers with no show socks so I bought myself some no show socks but I wanted to double check if it is beged ishah or any other prohibition before I wear it. Thanks
Answer
ב"ה Shalom, The prohibition of "lo yilbash",(דברים כב:ה) that a man may not wear the clothing of a woman and a woman may not wear the clothing of a man, refers to clothing which are particular for a certain gender. Since sox are worn equally by men and woman it seems that these sox don't come under the category of the prohibition. See: שולחן ערוך סי' קפב:ה שו"ת יביע אומר חלק ו - יורה דעה סימן יד All the best
