Question
Did Jews go to Heaven in the Torah based on abiding by the 10 Commandments, making the required sacrifices, being obedient to the Laws of God, and acknowledging God as the one and only God? But what was the after-life fate of non-believers, practitioners of sexual perversions, sorcery, and those things forbidden by God?
Answer
There are altogether 613 commandments, upon which a Jew is judged. Over history, almost all Jews go to heaven, aside from several mentioned in the Talmud. But as wev'e written many times in the past, the issue of heaven and hell are totally secondary in Judaism, for the main point is to be a Godly person in this world. We observe the commandments because they are true and we identify with them, and the reward or punishment come as a secondary and inevitable outcome.
