Question
Is it okay to wear a nice shevy wig that is a little past the shoulders. I read somewhere that it is not ok to wear a wig that has the imitation of white scalp. the wig is dark and there is a white line (the imitation of a scalp) where the hairs part.
Thanks,
Answer
The Mishna Brura (75:15) permits wearing a wig a as a head covering where the custom is to allow them. The aim of the wig is in order to be modest and not to draw attention and some poskim have written that it is difficult to set exact rules for this. However, what is clear is that the wig itself must also be modest.
