A saintly person controls his tongue. He does not emit a word from his mouth without thinking about it first. Every word is weighed and considered. Hence, the prayer of such a person is not a thoughtless, perfunctory act, like the speech of a parrot.
After a student has studied for a number of years and has received a firm Torah foundation, it is best to direct him according to his talent and ambition – whether in the field of Torah, viz., education or the Rabbinate, or some practical vocation.
There exists an essential theological infrastructure grounded in the books of Torah luminaries such as the Rambam, the Kuzari, the Maharal, the Ramhal, Nefesh Hahaim, Rabbi Kook, and others. This edifice is not to be altered.
The healthy way of serving God is through studying God's Torah, through adhering to the Torah and to the Torah scholars who guide us according to the God's word. The more one grows in Torah the less one deals in supernatural devices.
