Words of Torah which seem poor and unimportant in one Torah text contain rich and meaningful information and insight when viewed in the perspective of another text.

Part of the great lesson of Torah is that life continues without us necessarily being present. As long as the covenant is remembered and observed, Moshe is still present with Israel.

The Torah has so many diverse lessons to teach, if we follow any of these, we indeed “own” the Torah.

The Bikkurim ceremony is about much more than just one farmer’s gratitude for his individual harvest. It is rather a reminder of the centrality of the Land of Israel, and the inalienable connection we have with this specific little corner of the world.
