Parshas Va’eira opens with Moshe Rabbeinu receiving admonition from Hashem for not being appreciative of His Ways. Thus, this is certainly an excellent time to study the brocha of bensching called Hatov Vehameitiv, “He Who is good and does good.”

It is hard to understand the way Moshe and Aharon presented their demands of Paroh, demands which resulted in the freeing of Bnei Yisrael from bondage and their exodus from Egypt.

Even though he grew up as a prince in Egypt, Moshe never forgot his roots.

The Parasha opens with the command to refrain from working on Shabbat. There is a story where Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai was against his students leaving Israel in order to work.
