Yeshiva WebsiteWhat Do We Sacrifice?
We would expect to read “when one of you offers a sacrifice.” Instead, it says “when one offers a sacrifice of you.” The essence of sacrifice is that we offer ourselves.
  • Torah, in All Its Forms, Goes Forth From Zion
Speaking last week about the weekly Torah portion, we noted that on Israel Independence Day, Yom HaAtzma'ut, we should thank G-d not only for the historic formation of the State of Israel in our generation, but also for the fact that Israel today is a Torah powerhouse, the likes of which we've never seen in any generation. The number of Torah students today is the largest ever, and the amount of hours spent studying Torah is the largest ever – all this mainly thanks to the State of Israel. The level of Torah study here in Israel is also the highest in the entire Jewish world. (We also stated that we must increase our in-depth Torah study, which is the most important part of our engagement with Torah.)
  • Brit Milah: It's OK for Gentiles Not to Understand
...The Jew has always been something of a mystery to the non-Jews; they have never really understood us or what majkes us tick. • Vengeance as the Foundation of the Nation and Faith
'Vengeance' - an important but misunderstood concept - is relevant not only to the recent Purim holiday, but also to this week's Torah portion of Tzav (Lev. Chapters 6-8), which discusses laws and procedures of sacrificial offerings...
  • The Secret Love
...There are things that must be kept in Sod (Secret), and if someone reveals them, he thus abuses and wastes their greatness. One who has no secrets is one who is shallow and external - but 'Israel was redeemed from Egypt in the merit of not having revealed their inner secrets' (Midrash Tehillim 114,1)...
  • The Clearest Sign That Redemption Is Near
Learning from our ancient sources the clearest sign that Redemption is near...and showing us the realization of the prophecy today!
  • "The Land which ..the eyes of the Lord your God are always upon her"
In this week's Portion, the Torah describes the reaction of the People of Israel to the scourges which they suffered. It's amazing to see how we reacted during thousands of years, and how we react today…. with all of the strength and power that the Lord gave us.
