Chanukah

The Jewish victory over the Greeks, which brought liberation from national and religious oppression, also broke the shackles of the materialistic, stagnated Hellenist world view. And not by chance was this new hope realized during the month of Kislev.

On Chanukah are we celebrating our incredible victory in what looked like a suicidal war, the miracle of the pot of oil or both? How does this gives us much-needed insight into current events?

Are miracles (like the pot of oil which lit eight days) deviations from nature or are they a part of nature which we don't see every day?

Fulfilling the Mitzvah in the following cases, according to the Sephardic and Ashkenazi customs: lighting in the Synagogue, travelers, women, single and married children living at home and away from home, Yeshiva students, soldiers, roommates, mourners, and blind persons.
