Throwing out things

Question

Hello Rabbi, I recently bought a pair of pants. The Amazon seller’s name translates to “gift of G-d” most likely in Indian/Sanskrit. May I throw out the package with this name? Additionally, may I throw out objects that have words/letters that may translate to G-d in another language? Best

Answer

Shalom, Thank you for your question. Yes, such a packaging may be thrown out. In general, when the name of G-d appears in a foreign language, especially when it is not part of Jewish religious text, it may be erased. Many Blessings.
