הספר מחולק לשני חלקים. בחלק הראשון שלשה שערים: שער ה[[זכירה]] – אוסף מאמרי [[חז"ל]] בשכר השומר לשונו ובעונש ה[[חוטא]]; שער ה[[תבונה]] – עצות ותחבולות כיצד להינצל מדיבורים אסורים; שער ה[[תורה]] – ביאור גודל שכר מי שמקדש פיו ב[[תורה]].<br />

בחלק השני נוספו עוד ביאורים בעניין שמירת ה[[דיבור]] גם על-פי סדר [[פרשיות השבוע]].<br />
