<p><b>דף חדש</b></p><div>בירושלים נמצא בשכונת משכנות ישראל בצומת הרחובות בירב ומשכנות כאשר הכניסה אליו מרחוב בירב. שכונת משכנות ישראל הוקמה בשנת 1875 ואז גם התחילו לבנות את בית הכנסת ששמו היה אמור להיות "משכני עליון" בשנת 1877 פסקה הבניה בגלל בעיות כלכליות אבל תורם בשם אברהם זוסמן מלונדון הציל את המצב בתרומתו, ושם בית הכנסת הוחלף ל"בית אברהם". על שם הנדיב. קומה שניה ובית כנסת נוסף במקום נבנו בשנת 1895 בעקבות סכסוך בין אנשי המניין הראשון (ותיקין) ובין אנשי המניין השני שכן אנשי המניין הראשון גלשו בתפילתם אל מעבר לזמן תחילתו של המניין השני. הפתרון של הרב הירש סופר היה לבנות בית כנסת נוסף בקומה שניה ששם יתפללו ותיקין. בבית הכנסת התפללו בנוסח אשכנז. מתחת לבית הכנסת היה בור מים ומקוה. כיום משך השבוע פועלת במקום ישיבה שאנשיה מתפללים שם בהתאם לסדר היום.</div>
