Question
Some one told me that it is better for us jews to stick with living inside the green line. Aren't the Shtachim in Yehudah and the Shomron appart of the boundries of Eretz Yisreal according to the Torah? And what do we say about the fact that the Arabs lived ih Eretz Yisrael before the jewish people. They think its there land the same way we think its ours?! Thank you very much for your time. May we hear only Bisorot Tovot!
Answer
Yehuda and Shomron are part of the Land of Israel that we are commanded to settle and to include within Jewish sovereignty. Arabs arrived in the Land of Israel as part of the Moslem expansion that began only after the rise of Islam. Many of the Arabs living in the Land of Israel today are descendants of families who came here relatively recently - together with the Zionist resettlement of the land. On the other hand, Jewish sovereignty in the Land began about 3,500 years ago.
