Question
I know that there are passages in the Jewish texts, including the fifth commandment and passages in the Talmud, that say that a Jewish son should honor his father. I am wondering if there are any passages that draw a connection between being a good son and being a good father to your own son.
Answer
We read in Sanhedrin 90a that the ways of G-d are "Midah K'negged Midah"- a person is rewarded in kind for his good deeds.
