Question
Are Retainer Brite tablets (used to clean retainers and dentures) okay for Pesach use? They dont have any kind of hechsher... ~Chag Kasher V’Sameach! Thank you so much!
Answer
ב"ה Shalom and Moadim Li'simcha In principle, since this is a cleansing agent and is unfit even for animal consumption, it may be used for Pesach. However, there are those who are more stringent with substances which come in contact with the mouth, especially on Pesach. So, if when brushing your teeth you always looked for kosher for Pesach toothpaste you should apply the same for the retainer and denture cleanser. You should contact your local Rabbinic authorities who usually publish before Pesach Kosher bulletins who may have such information. However, if you don’t find one and want to maintain oral hygiene you may use it, since this is only a stringency and when in need we can rely upon the priciple Halacha. All the best
