Music on pesach sheni
Question
Is it ok to provide live music at an event on Pesach sheni?
Answer
Shalom,
Thank you for your question. Pessach Sheni is celebrated on the 14th on Iyar – which falls in the middle of the days of customary mourning of the Omer days. Even though there are different customs as to which days are the ones we mourn on – according to all customs the 14th of Iyar is included in the mourning days.
With this in mind the laws of not listening to live music apply on Pesach Sheni also. Therefore you should not plan an event with live music for Pesach Sheni.
Blessings.
