Does this Halacha apply to teachers giving private lessons as well?

ב"ה Shalom I am not a tax consultant, but assuming that a person giving private lessons and makes a living out of it is required to declare tax and pay VAT when making over a certain income, it would seem that the same principles apply here as well. All the best
