Ask the Rabbi
Question
Now that it’s Elul it’s my first year observing holidays which I’m very happy about, anything that I should do and focus on during the 40 days? Giving more tzedakah? Tefillah? Anything specific to be saying or doing to get mercy blessings and salvation from Hashem? I already had such a good year of discovering judisim and becoming religious.
Anytime I should focus on when to give charity to the poor? Before Yom Kippur should I donate money? Thank you
Answer
Great to hear! If you can, we have the custom of adding every day during these days of tshuva Tehilim Chapter 43, and if you can, choose 1 new additional mitzva to observe!
All the best!
