Question
My tallit kattan is ripped down the center, about 2/3rds. Am I able to repair it by either sewing the tear or by taking a strip of wool (it is a wool tallit with p’til tekhelet) and stitching the strip over the tear?

Mo'adim Lesimcha,
As long as the garment of the tzizit is NOT torn to the extent that the connection between the two sides is no more than 6-7 centimeters, then it may be sewn together and it is as new. (שו"ע הרב סי' ט"ו סעיף י) I would not add additional pieces of material. Baruch Hashem, today tzizit are easily available.
All the best
