Pareve items in a milky dishwasher
Question
Unfortunately in the clear-up after chag (in israel - that’s why i’m sending this to you on friday) - a pareve tupperware and pareve knife (with plastic handle) were put into my milky dishwasher? Are they now to be considered milky or can i still use them as pareve?
thank you
Answer
Assuming dishwasher soap was used, it makes the taste of the water unfavorable and therefore your pareve items are not considered dairy and may be used after the fact.
Though more caution should be exercised in the future and always ask if something similar happens again because each case may have different factors and the halacha will change accordingly.
All the best.
