Question
Hello Rabbi,
What would you say the "original" true meaning of the Hebraic version of "Metaphysics" really mean/t?? I’m not speaking of the 20-21st Century version of New Age/Thought Metaphysics. Thank You & Shalom.
Answer
Being that “metaphysics” is not Hebrew- as is usually the case, there is no decisive absolute translation. There are similar terms translated as spirituality, holiness, purity, ideals etc. but the common denominator for all of these is: “Godliness”. That’s the goal: to be as Godly as we can, and reveal the Godliness in each and every aspect of life (even the physical!).
