Removing Hashem’s name on computer
Question
I would like to prepare a hagada for a class.
I found online the text of the hagada which I would like to use, however I don’t want to print out Hashems name. Can I remove it from the text and replace it with a daled? or is it better to just change the color of the text to white so it wont print out??
Thank you so much
Answer
R. Shlomo Zalman Auerbach and most others hold that writing on a computer memory isn’t considered halachically the same as writing regularly (andhow much more so, before saving the document). Accordingly, you can replace it with a daled and it’s not considered erasing G-d’s name. Your original idea of changing the text to white is even better (but then u might be left with a blank space)!
