Question
When one wakes up to say Tikun Hatzot, does one say al Netilat Yadayim? Also are Birchat Hatorah Birchat Hacohen Shma and Morning Brachot said before Tikun Leah and Tikun Rachel? Does one still say Tikun Leah on Shabbat and Yom tov? What is the time frame to say Tikun Hatzot? Is it within the first 2 hours past midnight?
Answer
1. When one rises after Chatzot one Washes one's hands (Netilat Yadayim) and one says all Birkot Hashachar except for Birkot Hatorah. 2. All the Brachot are said before Tikun Chatzot except for Birkat Hatorah and Birkat Cohanim. 3. Most Poskim say that one does not say Tikun Le'ah on Shabbat and Yom Tov. 4. The Mekubalim say Tikun Chatzot exactly at midnight (The time on the calander!) but one can say it all night. Rabbi Ro'i Margalit
