Question
I have a kosher outdoor barbeque. I want to use it for pesach so I bought new grates. How should I clean the barbeque? And besides cleaning the grill do I have to tovel the grates?
Answer
Thank you for your question,
Just wipe off the chametz from the barbeque and do a ‘Libun’ by kashering it at the highest temperature setting or if it is a charcoal grill then by the largest amount of charcoal that you regularly use.
The new grates need to be toveled (unless they happen to be from an Israeli company owned by Jewish owners).
All the best!
