Ask the Rabbi
- Halacha
- Vows and Oaths
- Hatarat Nedarim - Annulment of Vows
Question
1) Can you clarify when doing (or not abstaining from something) multiple times turns it into a neder?
2) Are things included in the hataras nedarim from erev rosh hashana even though I continued with the inyan 3+ times since doing the hatoras nedarim?
Answer
1. Any mitzva or good minhag that a person does three times becomes a neder automatically (see Mishna berura, 597,6).
2. Yes, they are included. You don't have to worry about it.
