Question
When shall the Temple be rebuilt in Jerusalem?
Answer
There is always an obligation to build the Temple, but being that Moslems and Christians often intolerantly build houses of worship in the place of where it originally was Jewish, there is now a large mosque on the site of the Temple, and for obvious political reasons, Israel doesn't want to start a war by re-building the Temple on that site, which housed the 1st and 2nd Temples (from 997-586 BCE, and 516 BCE- 70 CE, respectively) in Jerusalem. We look forward to the day that Moslem extremists will realize that the Holy Temple is really meant to be for us all, "for My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations" (Isaiah 56, 7), just as it used to be, and we'll all live in peace!
