Hearing profane music in mall or barber shop
Question
Cvod Harav, is one allowed to go to a mall, or a barbershop to get a haircut, if music with profanity is played there?
Answer
In general, one should rebuke someone when hearing his indecent speech, and also not regularly associate with those who will bring him to get used to such a negative atmosphere. On the other hand, that doesn't apply regarding passive and one-time hearing of someone else's passive listening to the radio in his store/mall. How much more so if the barber or mall owner are not Jewish, you obviously need not rebuke them.
