Why did Miriam have to die if the women didnt die in the desert and entered Israel at the end of the 40 years?

The midrash answers that Moshe, Aharon and Miriam were on similarly high levels, and if her brothers didn't enter the Land of Israel because of their punishments, it would seem as if Miriam might be on a higher level, and that wouldn't be respectful to them.
