Question
I need to take my car to be inspected. It is something which can be done anytime (if I had time). Is it mevazeh es hamoed if I do it on Chol Hamoed?

Since you can take your car at any time for inspection, you may not take it on Chol Hamoed. The Shulchan says that a person should not intentionally plan his work to be done on Chol Hamoed. ( שולחן ערוך או"ח סי' תקל"ז: טז, תקלח:א).
