Planting parsley and cilantro together
Question
I would like to know if you can plants different herbs together in the same garden...
Ex. Parsley, basil, mint, cilantro.
Answer
Shalom,
Thank you for your question. The answer will depend on whether you are in the land of Israel or not. If you are referring to growing things outside of Israel, there are no restrictions on mixing herbs in the same garden.
If you are in the land of Israel, there are restrictions. These can get quite technical, but in general you either need a partition between each type of herb, or a distance. The distance depends on the species and also the amount being planted – but usually for herbs a 12cm space between the different types of herbs will suffice. If they are planted in different containers, no distance is required.
Blessings.
