Question
Is it allowed to touch relativs who passed away? Is it allowed in Israel for the relatives to follow the funeral procession?
Answer
ב"ה Shalom Simply touching is permissible. It is allowed in Israel for the children to follow the funeral procession. However, there is a Jerusalem custom according to which sons, daughters, or other descendants of the deceased may not join the funeral procession. (See Mourning in Halacha 9:14.)
