Ask the Rabbi
Question
When convert’s parents convert to Judaism, is the original convert still considered ben/bat Avraham v’Sarah? Or do they again use their biological parents’s new Hebrew names?
Answer
Since a convert is considered reborn, in the event that his biological parents also convert he will still bear the name ben/bat Avraham v’Sarah.
