Meaning Behind Names of Jewish Months
Question
I have seen many places in halachic and hasidic works where the names of the months are darshened and hints or lessons are found in their names, such as Elul, Av, etc. How can we find hints in names if they are really Babylonian in origin?
Answer
Because they were adopted by the Jewish people [and abandoned by the others] and more so approved by God and as a proof they were written in Tanach.
