Question
I am hoping to sell my home and I wondered how much Tzedaka to give. The difference between the buying price and the selling price is enormous.
Answer
One should subtract from what one receives from the selling price the brokerage fees, taxes, and money used to fix up the property for sale, and the original purchase cost. Of the balance, one should distribute to Tzedakah preferably 20%, but 10% for sure.
