Question
I have two daughters: ages 10 and 14. If they are not with us for shabbat (let’s say they are with friends or on a shabbaton) are they to light their own shabbat candles because I am not there to light?
Answer
Childre who are away from home generally rely on the Shabbat candles of the mother at home.
