Question
My nephew is seeing a nice girl, she unfortunately, lost her mother about four months ago. Can her propose to her and marry her during the mourning period?
Answer
Engagement and marriage may take place after the first month of mourning (shloshim). The wedding ceremony and meal should be joyous and no changes should be made because of the mourning.
