Torah in a bathroom under construction
Question
Can torah be spoken in a room on a construction site that has already been designated as a bathroom but is still under construction?
Answer
In the place where it is forbidden to say Kriyat Shma one may not say Shmone Esrei.(Shulchan Aruch Orach Chayim 90:26)
The Mishna Berura adds that the same is relevant to thestudy of holy writings.
In the case he designated a site for a toilet, even if it was never used as such - one may not study there.(SA OC 83:2,3).
