Walking on Shabbos
Question
Hi. I am interested in walking to certain places on Shabbos but it would end up being around 8 or 9 miles total. Would I be allowed to walk this far? I will also be going in and out of the eruv. I am not sure how far I will be allowed to walk and was wondering if anyone had answers for me. Thank you for your time.
Answer
It is forbidden to walk outside the Eruv more than 1 kilometer. If on Erev Shabbat you placed food at the end of the first kilometer you may walk on Shabbat only one more kilometer.
