Why on Chanukkah is the idea of mehadrin and mehadrin min hamehadrin so poignant? Does this idea relate to a concept in halacha? Where else is this found?

Chanukah has a singular concept, appearing only on Chanukah, because the miracle was a Hiddur. The Maccabis could have lit with desecrated oil but made a special effort to light with holy oil. This concept relates in the Halacha in different ways of lighting the candles. Rabbi Yitzchak Grinblat
