Hi Rabbi 1)Do we make a Shehecheyanu on strawberries ,being that they are seasonal and fall in the category of being a vegetable? 2)What are the guidelines with regard to Shehecheyanu and vegetables? Thanks so much

1) One says Shehecheyanu on strawberries because they come once a year. 2) On vegetables one says Shehechiyanu just as one says on fruit. Obviously, only if the fruit comes once a year and is not to be found ALL year round. Rabbi Yitzchak Grinblat
