Ask the Rabbi
- Halacha
- Meat and Milk
- Waiting Between Meals
Question
If I cook a pareve meal in a meaty pot do I become meaty? If so for how long - the same time as if I had eaten, say chicken?
Answer
You do not become meaty. However, you cannot eat the meal with milk products as the meal is defined in Halacha as Bechezkat - meaty. Obviously, you do not have to wait any time after eating before eating milk.
