Question
My husband’s father died on Erev Shabbat and was buried on Motzei Shabbat. Is it permissible to eat dinner on Friday night (last day of Shiva) or lunch on Shabbat at the home of a relative. If not, are we permitted to eat with them at our home?
Answer
It would be permitted to eat on Shabbat at the home of a relative, though many refrain from eating out even after the Shiva. It would be preferable to eat with the relatives at your own home.
