Question
Rabbi
Can a boy who will be Bar mitzva in two months time read the haftorah Brachots only, I will then read the Haftorah?
Then he would read the concluding Brachot?
Answer
Our Minhag is that a boy under the age of 13 cannot be called to the Torah or read from the Torah. An adult can be called to The Torah for Maftir and a boy under the age of 13 CAN read the HAFTARA (from the Navi) not from the Torah. Therefore only an adult can say the Brachot.
