Can a non-Jew give me a Bracha?
Question
I was wondering if a Goi can give me a Bracha, does it make a difference if I ask or if he offers? Does it make a difference if he worships Avoda Zara? What should I do if one offers? What if he does it anyway without offering?
Answer
The Talmud (Megila 15a) proves from David that was blessed by Aravnah the Jevusite and Daniel by Daryavesh, that we shouldn’t cheapen a blessing of the lowly – even if comes from the mouth of a non-Jew and idol-worshiper like in the above examples.
If he is blessing by the name of his idols – try to avoid it.
