Question
To whom is attributed the "Hadran Alach..." text at the end of each tractate of talmud and the abbreviated text at the end of each perek?
Answer
On a simple note, we promise the torah we have just studied, that we will return to her and not forsake her, we are also asking from the Torah we studied to return, so to speak, to us and not forsake us.
Some translate the word Hadran form the Hebrew Hadar – glory or splendor, as if to say that we are glorified by the Torah.
In Chassidic literature there are deeper references for this but not following the literal meaning necessarily.
