Question
Should one wear Tzitzit while asleep? Does it give more Kedusha to the person?
Answer
All agree there is no obligation to sleep with and all agree you are not transgressing any Halacha by sleeping with. All agree as well that there is an “Inyan” to sleep with.
The question is, does that “Inyan” apply to the average bloke?
From my Rosh Yeshivah I learned that there are better ways of reaching Taharah and Kedushah; try more Torah study, more Tzedahkah and more Tefilah for a start.
The majority of Gedolim don’t sleep with their Tzitzit and therefore unless your rabbi tells you you should or it is your family custom, you may be better off following the common custom.
