Nearly all neckties are "100% Silk" yet have a fabric lining. Do they need to be checked for sha’atnez?

This is the information I got off R. K. Cohen of the Shaatnez lab in Melbourne Australia: It is unlikely to find Shaatnez in ties. Most of them come from china (even though they say Italy…) and have no problem. Those made in Spain should be checked as it is not rare to find shaatnez in Spanish ties. If you look at the inner lining and it seems like linen – it is worth while to send for checking.
